FY 2023 State of NJ Annual Action Plan Citizen Participation

FY 2023 Annual Action Plan Citizen Participation

The State of New Jersey annually receives funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for five programs: the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, the HOME Investment Partnerships program (HOME), the National Housing Trust Fund (NHTF), the Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) program, and the Housing Opportunities for Persons With AIDS (HOPWA) program. The State is looking for your input to help identify and prioritize housing, community, and economic development needs in New Jersey.

Here’s how you can help!

ATTEND A COMMUNITY MEETING!

The State is holding four community meetings that are open to the public.  The community meetings will be facilitated discussions around community needs, existing resources, and ways we can address gaps for our most vulnerable residents. Seats are limited and registration is necessary.  All meetings are virtual and Zoom information will be forwarded after registration. To register for a session, please use this link. We’d also appreciate your sharing the word about these meetings and encouraging others who may have valuable input to attend.

SHARE OUR ONLINE COMMUNITY SURVEY!

Please complete our community survey! Your participation will help us gain a more qualitative understanding of the experiences, opinions, and feelings of community members on housing and community development needs. We also ask that you share this survey with your members, consumers, clients, and partners!  Folks are more likely to complete a survey if they received it from someone they know and trust.  We hope to reach State residents far and wide with this survey – especially those within vulnerable populations. Your assistance with this outreach is invaluable.  This survey will close on June 12, so we appreciate your sharing it as soon as possible.

Note that the survey is also available in Spanish.  To change to the Spanish language version of the survey, click on the “English (United States)” dropdown in the upper right-hand corner of the page.  Select Espanol (Mexico), and the text of the survey will change to Spanish.  See screenshots below.

If you have any questions about the survey or registration for community meetings,  please contact Jennifer Alpha, our consultant with TDA Consulting, Inc., at jalpha@tdainc.org.

Thank you for your participation and all you do for our communities.  We look forward to learning your perspectives on these important topics!
