Tax Preparation Site: Egg Harbor City LIBRARY, 134 Philadelphia Avenue, Egg Harbor City, NJ, on THURSDAYS ONLY from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Site will be open from FEBRUARY 1 to APRIL 15, 2015. Walk-ins are welcome, or call 2-1-1 for an appointment. Make sure to bring ALL REQUIRED DOCUMENTS [see below]. The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program, or VITA, is coordinated locally by the United Way of Greater Philadelphia & Southern New Jersey and the Campaign for Working Families, or CWE. The volunteers are certified by the IRS, and use IRS-approved Tax Wise software on computers that can only be used for tax returns to protect confidentiality. The volunteers received training and certification at Stockton. Many, but not all of the volunteers in the training program at Stockton are or were students at the college, majoring in finance or accounting. The program is available for personal income taxes ONLY. The income limit for single filers is ,000 and for couples and families is ,000. Residents can walk-in at the site, BUT must be sure to all the information needed to file their return, INCLUDING the new proof of health insurance form. Other required information includes Social Security cards, any state-issued photo ID (such as a driver's license), W-2 forms, 1099 forms and any other income documents, a voided check for direct deposit of a refund, child care provider information ir applicable and the 1098 Tuition payment form if applicable. This local United Way volunteer income tax preparation assistance program also helps links residents to other services and raise awareness of other programs available to residents, especially those laid off from casinos or other businesses last year who may need help with housing and job issues as their unemployment benefits expire.

Pfeffer Performing Arts Center at the Cedar Creek High School. This family-friendly musical comedy features comic strip characters: Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, Schroeder, Sally and Snoopy. "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" is directed by Matthew Ballistreri with assistance from Paula Londono, musical direction by James Goodrich and choreography by Ashley Tabano. Headlining the cast are seniors Taylor Epps, Nico Musitano, Brennan Perkins, and Logan Stuart. Underclassmen Nadine Blank, Lara Guerrini, Vanessa Matos and Corinne Podolski round out the leads. Music is provided by a pit band composed almost entirely of Cedar Creek High School Band members and Alumni. Tickets are for adults; for students and seniors, and for children under 10. The 10th Annual Lines On the Pines will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Kerri Brooke Caterers, 755 South White Horse Pike, Hammonton. Admission is free. More than 50 representatives will be on hand who share a love of the New Jersey Pine Barrens through writing, art, sculpture, music, and photography, and they will be on hand to sign their books, show their work, play songs and promote the Pine Barrens. The event is presented by the non-profit group It's a Sign of the Pines. Vendors will be selling handcrafted soap, decoys, baskets, photographs, jewelry, art, metal work, craft beer, carnivorous plants, hand-spun goods, paintings, candles, felted items and more. Artisans will include: David Caccia, Cathy Engelsen, Gloria Mahoney, Meed Barnett, Terry Schmidt, Charles Branigan and others. Authors will include Trinka Hakes Noble, "The Legend of the Jersey Devil" and "The People of Twelve Thousand Winters"; Stephanie Armiger, "A Devil in the Pines II, New Blood"; Judy Courter,"Letters to Fred"; Barbara Solem, "Batsto Village-Jewel of the Pines"; Lee Ireland, "America's Pirates & Their Treasures"; and Frank Ferry "Nucky: The Real Story of the Atlantic City Boss". The Pinelands Preservation Alliance will have many publications to browse or purchase. Sweetwater artist Kathy English will be selling and signing "Treasurers of the Pine Barrens", a map-based work featuring 76 individual paintings of all things Pine Barrens. Dinner by reservation only will be offered after the event at 4:30 p.m. featuring musicians Cookie and Paul Evans Pedersen,Jr. and the Jarvis Video film "Timeless Treasures of the Pine Barrens".
