New Jersey Earned Income Tax Credit
The NJ Treasury Department has once again launched a statewide campaign to raise awareness about New Jersey’s Earned Income Tax Credit (NJEITC) https://www.state.nj.us/treasury/taxation/eitc/eitcinfo.shtml, a program that has long been championed as one of the most valuable tools to help lift people out of poverty.
Thanks to the latest policy changes enacted by Governor Murphy and the Legislature, we are making more money available to more people than ever before. However, many eligible taxpayers still fail to apply for this valuable program, leaving hard-earned money on the table.
With the tax filing season officially underway, we have created a new online toolkit for 2022 https://www.state.nj.us/treasury/media/njeitc/ containing a variety of promotional materials in both English and Spanish to help encourage every eligible taxpayer to apply. I am reaching out to you as a valued partner to ask for your help in sharing this message with constituents, stakeholders, social media followers, and any other key audiences – so that we can continue to expand our reach.
Taxpayers stand to receive anywhere from several hundred to several thousand dollars between the state and federal program. With your help, we can ensure every eligible, hardworking taxpayer in New Jersey claims the credit they deserve.
