REGISTEROn November 4, 2020, the Plastic Pollution Reduction Act was signed into law, which prohibits (with limited exceptions) the provision or sale of single-use plastic carryout bags, polystyrene foam (aka expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam or “Styrofoam”) food service products, paper bags in grocery stores over 2,500 feet and with plastic straws only available upon request.This law will go into effect on May 4, 2022.
